Had a chat with our favorite Classic Car restorer Mike a couple of days ago to see what was happening and he has had a new car in.
A Classic Jensen Interceptor. These are fab cars so lets hope it leaves in a better condition than it came in. Stood for 10 years it’s time to resurrect her. Here is what Mike had to say.
We received a Jensen coupe the other day to wake up after 10 years (only 54 made before they went into receivership and apparently only about 6 left in RHD). Any way we have drained the tank and flushed the engine which seemed free enough. If you are in Southern Spain and need help with your Classic Car give Mike a call+952 80 30 09 or Mobile +650 004 912.
We then took the plugs out and had a look at the bores with a mechanics endoscope -clean as a whistle so we cleaned plugs, changed the oil, put fresh fuel in and cranked her up.
The 7.2 liter Chrysler engine burst into life and purred like a kitten. We are now looking at the brakes which are partially seized and have sent the steering rack off for repair as it was leaking badly.
Will update again soon.
Our longer restoration the Austin Healey Sprite that was in a rusty mess is progressing well. Still on the rotisserie and still with strengthening braces, one side is basically done with inner and outer sills, A post spring hanger etc
Still a long way to go with this one.
